Mr. Saeed Ahmed
Mr. Saeed Ahmed is the founder of Gamalux Oleochemicals Limited. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company with over 50 years of experience in soap manufacturing and trading of edible and non-edible palm oil and its derivatives. Mr. Saeed Ahmed started his professional career in 1972 after completing his graduation from university of Karachi by working in his father’s cotton oil seed extraction mill. In early 1980’s he established Niaz Soap Factory a soap manufacturing factory for industrial and household use. Since then he became actively involved in palm oil business, a major raw material used in production of soap. In 1990’s, he went to Malaysia and established Gamalux Sdn Bhd a trading company for sale of palm oil products to Pakistan in acquaintance with his Malaysian business associates.
In 2000, he laid the foundation of Gamalux Oleochemicals Limited along with his business partner Mr. Ejaz Bhatti. Through his visionary thinking coupled with hard work and commitment, he transformed the Company from a humble beginning to one of leading oleo chemical manufacturing company of Pakistan. He is also immediate past Chairman of Pakistan Soap Manufacturers Association (PSMA).
Mr. Usman Ahmed
Mr. Usman Ahmed is an Executive Director and heading the Company as Chief Executive Officer. He joined the Company in 2000 after completing his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan University, USA. Mr. Usman carries with him rich experience of more than 20 years relating to oleo chemical industry and has a very strong understanding of the critical business drivers of the trade.
During his tenure at the Company, he remained involved in each and every aspect of business including operations, marketing, supply chain and finance departments. He played a pivotal role in expansion of the Company in Soap Noodles segment. His vision and mission is to transform Gamalux form a normal manufacturing facility to a world renowned oleo chemical plant in line with the global best practices and certifications. He was the founding Vice President of Bin Qasim Association of Trade and Industry (“BQATI”) and has also served as the Chairman of Pakistan Soap Manufacturers Association (“PSMA”) from 2018 to 2019. He is also current General Body member of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce Industry (FPCCI) and Director of Pakistan Malaysia Business Council of FPCCI.
Ms. Sara Saeed
Ms. Sara Saeed is associated with Gamalux as Non-Executive Director. She has done her Bachelor’s degree in Computing and Information Systems from London Guildhall University, Malaysia in 2003. After completing her education, she started her professional career at Gamalux Sdn Bhd as a Finance Executive and later on at PalmKis Sdn Bhd in logistics department, where she worked for five years from 2012 to 2017.
Mr. Muhammad Ahmed
Mr. Ahmed is a distinguished industrialist possessing eminent qualities of leadership. He belongs to a renowned family that has been active in business since incorporation of Pakistan. Mr. Ahmed graduated from College of Commerce and Economics, Karachi in 1996 and got degree in Business Administration from University of Faisalabad. He spent first ten years of his career at Paracha Textile Mills Limited and Hamza Sugar Mills. In 2000, he started oilseed business and established a solvent extraction plant by name of Ali Industries in Karachi, this was first of its kind solvent extraction plant established in the country. He has also served Meezan Beverages, Ali Danyal Industries (Pvt.) Limited and Al Momin Packaging Industries Limited in various capacities.
Mr. Ahmed has also served as Patron In-chief & Founding President of Bin Qasim Association of Trade & Industry and Chairman of All Pakistan Solvent Extractors Association (“APSEA”). He has also served in Federal and Provincial Government as an advisor for promotion of trade in the Country and has also played an important role in preparation of budget proposals.
Mr. Shakil Ashfaq
Mr. Ashfaq is associated with the Company as an Independent Director. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1991, and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1993, from Wichita State University, USA. Mr. Ashfaq has been involved in the edible oil business since 2000 when his family cofounded Shujabad Agro Industries (Pvt) Ltd. Shujabad Agro flagship cooking oil brand Eva enjoys prominent share in the premium segment of Pakistan’s edible oil market. Shujabad Agro also manufactures and markets Maan brand of cooking oil and banaspati in the mid-tier segment. Mr. Ashfaq has also served as the President of the All Pakistan Solvent Extractors Association in 2019-2020, President of Bin Qasim Association of Trade and Industry and Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers’ Association (“PVMA”) as Executive Committee member.
